Okay, so, my roommate came equipped with a bunch of games and a shiny PS2. She has every game related to Final Fantasy EVER RELEASED. And I was very bored.

So I got into my gaming outfit (don't ask), some cupcakes with a glass of milk, pulled out the bucket chair and swiped away the cat fur decorating it, booted up FFVIII and started.

Three hours later, I was still confused, didn't understand the strategy, and was aching for sleep.

It's not that I'm stupid, or not good with strategy. Play a game with me where you actually have to think, not level up random s--- and hope you roll a high number, and I'll show you a good time.

But Final Fantasy? At least, FF8? C'mon. The hotter the graphics got, the s---tier the gameplay became, so I ended up watching Escaflowne, which was still mind-numbing, but at least it had some scenes where you could almost imagine some hot action.

"Van..."

(Death ensues!)

"Van..."

(Two dragons attack each other!)

"Van..."

C'mon, Hitomi, read a book sometime. "Van" isn't the only word in the world.

`I can agree completely on FF8. I have yet to beat that game. I have tried on many occasions. I do look older FF's; 6 and 7. Though over the years I've learned to enjoy other rpg's where thinking is needed. Specifically Shin Megami Tensei games.

Other than that never seen Escaflowne.

`VIII is my favorite. Yeah, the junction system is weird at first but I absolutely love it. The trick is to draw 300 of every magic and train your GFs. Avoid exp and go after AP. Pretty soon you'll be unstoppable.

`The final fantasy series is one of the best rpgs to date. You got to remembr FFVIII was made in the PSX era so the graphics was great in its time. Same goes for FFVII, alot of people judge a game by graphics and playability. Yet FFVII - IX for the psx was the best square enix (or square soft as it was called back then) they could do with the current technology they have, not like what we have today. In conclusion the FF series has provided wonderful stories as well as new experiences throughout the generations and does not fail to impress.
